New Year, New Career at Minda in SA

All over Australia, there are Disability Enterprises that collectively employ more than 20,000 Australians with disability in a range of jobs. These include gardeners, store people, maintenance, IT professionals, recyclers, caterers and much more.

BuyAbility partners with Disability Enterprises from across the country. In the process, we have discovered when and where jobs are available. We can provide you with the right information to start your career in supported employment.

Minda

Start the New Year with a new career. Minda, in South Australia, is bursting at the seams with employment opportunities for people with disability. BuyAbility’s recent visit to Minda’s locations in Adelaide showed Minda includes not only accommodation for people with disability, therapy centres and an on-site registered training organisation, but also has a variety of job opportunities for people with disability within its commercial enterprises.

For example, e-recycling business Electronic Recycling Australia (ERA) stops 98 per cent of electronic goods from going to landfill. Not only that, ERA is also expanding its collection capabilities!

You could get an e-recycling job that makes a difference to your wellbeing and the environment, or you could consider a career in other areas including:

  • Furniture manufacturing
  • Packaging services
  • Laundry services
  • Property maintenance
  • Catering services
  • And much more.

Chief Executive Officer at Minda, Cathy Miller, says Minda can help you contribute your skills and abilities as part of the workforce and be supported while doing it.

“Minda has a range of supported employment opportunities currently open across the business,” she says.

“If you have a job as a supported employee with Minda, conditions are the same as those in the general workforce. All supported employees receive a wage, set hours of work, leave, skills development training and opportunities for career development.”
