Josh has been working at Merriwa Industries since August 2013, initially working in Packaging he would keep to himself and not converse or avoid his co-workers. Josh has difficulties with his speech, but is working on this and has come out of his shell at work, to the point where he now also participates in our Day Services program 2 days per week at Park Lane Nursery.
Josh now works 2 days in Packaging and is at Park Lane Nursery 2 days each week, and enjoys being outdoors at the Nursery. He now catches the local bus to work (instead of catching a private taxi), and his day activities include looking after the birds and chooks, gardening and visiting the library.
Disability Support Officer, Eril Edwards says “Josh has shown great improvements at Merriwa, he is more actively engaged in his work and is very capable of taking on new tasks, it’s great to see him improve and enjoy his work in Packaging and at Park Lane. Well done Josh.”
