Stefan Farina is a 25 year old artist with an intellectual disability. He joined the QArt Studio (Endeavour Foundation) in Kew three years ago and has achieved a lifelong goal, that of becoming an artist.
Self-taught, Stefan enjoyed drawing cartoon and footy players when he joined the studio, where some 20 artists with disability are employed. QArt exposed Stefan to new mediums and taught him how to paint from scratch.
His natural talent and passion fully embraced this opportunity and gave him ownership of his dream.
Stefan recently entered and was chosen to exhibit at the Camberwell Art Show with his large city scape canvas of Melbourne, completed mostly in his own time and on his own initiative. Hundreds of artists, professional and amateur enter but only the best are chosen to exhibit - An amazing outcome for a young man who three years ago had never painted!
“Art makes me happy ... What I love most is that I am inspired when I see someone else’s great work.” Stefan Farina.
